IMPROVING THE ABILITY OF BIOLOGY TEACHERS IN IMPLEMENTING THE INSTRUCTION THROUGH LESSON STUDY
Abstract
This research aims to determine whether the lesson study in Biology teachers meeting (MGMP) at junior high school partner can improve the ability of teachers in implementing the instruction. This study is a School Action Research (SAR) conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that: 1) Biology teachers are very enthusiastic discussions on the problems encountered in implementing the instructional process and jointly seek a way out; 2) The teachers are very happy and active in planning the lesson plan (RPP) together; 3) Teachers become accustomed to implement Lesson Study; and 4) The value of teachers in implementing the instructional process has increased from the first to the second cycle, namely: from 71.44 to 88. Based on these results it can be stated that the lesson study in Biology MGMP can improve the ability of teachers to implement the instructional process.
